Plot Narrative

I think it is very important that a Horror film has a reason for its narrative. I have decided that the message behind my story is to support feminism. The base of the story is saying that a woman should not be defined as to whether or not she has a husband. It is not a lesbian cult or political film it is a story that although morbid it explains to the audience that a woman can care for themselves. Cecelia is pushed into her marriage with Max because he is an over baring control freak who does not want his wife to leave his side because he is obsessed and infatuated by her. This angers CeCe making her target the curse at him.
My trailer is lightly based around airing Dunn's feminist slogan "a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bycicle". My narrative isn't saying that women should never get married because a husband can offer you support and loyalty but it's revealing that you shouldn't need a man to define you. If you believe that women don't objectify men your wrong. Women don't reduce their husbands to a few desired body parts but make them bit-players in their narcissistic life plan. This isn't a form of power as it is not a woman's to toy with as its dehumanising both to women and men. Secondly it continues a game of pointless deception in which women are the ultimate losers.
I chose to make a trailer under the horror genre as I want my audience to feel claustrophobic and get sweaty palms and uncomfortable.

  1. LOVE the idea behind your narrative; having an underlying message makes it so much more intriguing and love how clear you've made it to the audience
